Be accountable for your decisions and seek timely supervision or assistance when a task exceeds your competence or authority.
2 Assessment planning delivery and review
Assess needs and risks, contribute to person-centred plans, deliver authorised nursing interventions and evaluate outcomes. Respect consent, capacity, dignity and individual communication needs and document the assessment, action and response.
3 Medicines and clinical procedures
Administer or manage medicines and undertake procedures only when authorised, competent and supported by local policy and lawful direction. Check identity, prescription and allergies as appropriate and escalate omissions, errors, adverse events and unclear instructions. Specialist devices or procedures require explicit competence and assignment authorisation.
4 Coordination supervision and records
Communicate effectively at handover, coordinate with the multidisciplinary team and delegate only to appropriately competent people with suitable supervision. Keep accurate contemporaneous records, protect confidentiality and report incidents, safeguarding concerns and risks through the correct route. Do not conceal errors or falsify records.
5 Requirements and working arrangements
The confirmed assignment specifies required experience, training, safeguarding suitability, work permission, occupational fitness, relevant registration, local induction, staffing context, breaks and urgent contacts. The hirer provides local supervision and equipment. NurseFlex verifies the supply requirements relevant to the role. This description does not authorise work outside the professional field or guarantee insurance cover.
6 Acknowledgement and changes
