Learning

Build a learning plan that has a clear purpose

Connect each course to a role, a requirement or a development question.

Write the learning need first

Begin with the question you need to answer or the skill the employer requires. Identify the audience, setting and province before searching for a course. Separate introductory orientation, professional development and training that requires an assessed practical component. They should not be treated as interchangeable just because all produce a completion record.

Check acceptance before enrolment

Ask the responsible employer or regulator which provider, level and evidence they accept. Read current provider information about prerequisites, delivery and expiry. NurseFlex’s own ninety-one orientation, awareness, practice and professional learning activities are introductory learning; external Canadian directory entries remain with their named providers and may involve fees or separate registration.

Keep evidence and review the plan

Record the course, the reason for taking it and when the requirement should next be checked. NurseFlex team assignments can show due dates and progress for its hosted orientation courses. Private training records can hold external evidence with optional team sharing. Neither mechanism alone determines whether someone is qualified for a clinical task.
