Information handling

Keep personal information out of the wrong conversation

Choose the right channel and the minimum useful detail before sharing a record.

Identify the purpose

A scheduling question rarely needs a patient name, diagnosis or copy of an identity document. State the operational issue and use the organization’s approved systems for information that belongs in a clinical or personnel record. Before sharing a file, check who needs access and what decision the file supports.

Know which rules need review

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner explains that applicable privacy rules depend on factors including the organization, location and information involved. A UK policy or a generic Canadian statement is not enough to establish the requirements for your workplace. Route questions about permitted collection, retention and cross-border handling to the responsible privacy lead.

Use NurseFlex sharing deliberately

Canada training records are private until the owner chooses to share them with a team. Revoking a share or leaving the team removes future in-product access, but cannot recall a copy already downloaded by an authorized reviewer. Upload training evidence only; do not put identity records, medical documents or patient information into this feature.
