Turn a learning need into a realistic goal and maintain an honest record of development.
Write one specific learning goal and why it matters to you.
What would show progress toward your goal beyond finishing a quiz?
Write a one-sentence reflection without including personal or patient identifiers.
Start with one question you want to answer or one non-clinical skill you want to improve. A specific goal is easier to act on than a broad intention to learn everything. For example, you might want to practise explaining an unfamiliar term in plain language.
Choose learning from a suitable source and check who it is intended for. An introductory resource may help you ask questions without qualifying you to perform a task. Ask your employer or regulator what evidence they accept before paying for external training.
Reflect: Write one specific learning goal and why it matters to you.
Choose a resource, a time to use it and a way to reflect afterwards. Plan around your actual availability. Short sessions can be useful if you return to the topic and check your understanding.
An assessment score is one signal, not proof of workplace competence. If your learning need includes practical skills, arrange appropriate supervised training and assessment. Keep theory, practical instruction and professional approval distinct in your plan.

Record the title, provider, date, topic and next action. Describe the activity accurately: do not relabel an introductory course as an accredited clinical qualification. If a record is saved on a shared device, consider who else can access it.
NurseFlex Canada learning records describe completion of these orientation courses. They do not claim CPD accreditation or regulatory acceptance. Use your portfolio as a personal account of study and confirm separately whether an organization will accept any learning evidence.
